Shanghai - Old & New

Shanghai - Old & New

Taken from the roof garden of the old general post office building on Suzhou creek, this image shows the contrast between the few remnants of old colonial Shanghai (circa 1920-1940) and the ever changing modern face of Shanghai which is being built on the dreams of it's financial prowess in the world economy.

If you are visiting Shanghai or even live here like me you might not be aware of the general post office on Suzhou creek. There is a roof garden which is open at no cost to the public from 9AM to 5PM each day (including Sunday). The view from here is excellent and well worth making a visit.
